New RFI Broad Band UHF Antenna

Hi all has any one used one of these yet- I have seen them on the new Police cars

Interesting, I wonder if this is to accommodate for migration to the (lower frequency) GRN in the near future?

Andrew I was thinking the same and they are only 2db gain as well

Hi all,

Yeah there pretty good, Have used them at work seemed to do the job pretty well. I guess you cant expect huge gain given the frequency covered.

The older 'bash sticks' do 400-470 and have 4db gain. I run them on both my utes http://www.rfiwireless.com.au/mobile-an ... cd440.html

I use a few of them, as Matt said you can't expect huge gain.

I have been staying with the old style elevated feed CD9X series with either the 1/4 wave or phase master depending on the application.

If you don't need the frequency coverage I wouldn't use one.

Polar in Melbourne produce an even better one- I think it is more robust. I have 2 of these on my work vehicle...

Thanks for the input guys - I pick my RFI ones up next week they came into day as they were nill stock - Richard the last polar antenna I brought had a hi SWR I sent it back and it was replaced and they were great to deal with and then someone stole it off my car lol- while I have been working on operation Austrans the last few weeks the police I have been working with had the new RFI antennas and they said they are working better then the last type they had , ill update u all when I fit them next Wednesday night
