Hi Matt, do you have the one freq trunk system set up as described by Russell above, or do you use another method? I've tried at least 15 of the Sydney encrypted sites (what would be Zone 2) over the last 24 hours and have only got the ID of 1 and 4095 appear, no radio ID's. I can pick up a couple of the south digital channels (Zone 3) in the clear from here, so might try those to see if they are any different.Longreach wrote:The XT's decode the RID's fine. Mine show up all the time on the one freq trunk systems ive created.

Re: Console rids
Hi Scotty, Yeah i do have it setup that way. looking at the Goulburn Vote im seeing ID:65535 and UID:i5(they alternate screens). do you have Radio ID enabled on your XT, or Type 2 in your software?
cheers

They appear to be real four digit radio or console ids

Re: Console rids
I ran a one freq trunk system on the P25 clear channels that I can hear from here, 468.4125, 468.7125, 419.3125 - I'm not sure what channel these frequencies now belong to, but all were rebroadcasting Goulburn/Wagga/etc. All I got on all 3 channels was the ID's of 1 and 4095 - no individual RID's.
I then switched back to an encrypted Sydney channel (468.7375) and somehow it's now switching between ID: 4085 and a 6 digit RID 109044, end every now and again RID 4 (in the clear) and RID 1.
I've got no idea what's going on, but I'll have another play later when I get a chance. At least it seems to does decode them (sometimes!).

Re: Console rids
You wont see too many ids other then 4 on those P25 Clear channels, which are out of Mittagong. The Sydney channel with 109044 is Vote 109 and Vote 044 which i think its the Penrith/Blue Mountains channel, according to an old website,
Re: Console rids
Yes, and that's exactly what I was referring to in my post, if you read it carefully and understand the context.cartman wrote:1 and 4095 arecitabria wrote:I believe those are the P25 conventional talkgroup ID's - not the radio IDs.

Re: Console rids
In the last month or two new console ids have been introduced, and interoperability seems to be the motivation, in order to covering staffing needs.
So far I have seen a Newcastle console run Foxtrot and Ch 5 in the metro region

Looks like Foxtrot is being controlled from Newcastle today.
I have seen Console rids 1301-1310 before out of Newcastle.
Today 1315 seems to be running the show on Vote 104 Foxtrot

Re: Console rids
Another interesting thing i noted about a week ago when i was up at Port Macquarie for a few days and listening to November (which is P25 clear transmitted from Middle Brother Mt), was that VKG can turn radios off and on as required to prevent unauthorised monitoring
Heard Nelson Bay 33 asked VKG Newcastle to reactivate the car radio (presumably being picked up after servicing)
VKG were heard asking Nelson Bay 33 to make sure radio is switched on before they sent the command
As far as I can figure (from comments others have made and reading forums like P25.ca) the NSW VKG consoles utilise Conventional Tactical Over the Air Rekeying.
I take this as sub-audible data being transmitted to the affected or nominated radio
I was unaware as VKG is fully encrypted in the Sydney Metro region (all I hear is squiggly noises) and has been obviously added subsequent to May 2008
