I would say that more RFS Zones / Districts will change over.

RF spectrum issues where there is literally nowhere for existing channels in Greater Sydney to move to, ie a lot of existing channels have to be moved as they will be in the soon the be wrong part of the spectrum, and nowhere to put them in the correct part.

My local mob is doing a rapid changeover / roll out as I speak. Information sessions and station radio replacements (all station radios are non-Motorola PMR only) will happen followed by the actual switch over.

Sounds like Shoalhaven District ("GD83 SHOALHN") is fully migrating this morning, all brigades being told to change over and many (many) radio checks being conducted and one poor soul that keeps getting "Denied"!

Hi all,
Im wondering how long the PMR smartbridge wil stay up for? im still hearing them on P053 RFS PMR (418.225) here at home.
I heard though there one of the areas to go to the digital PMR in the future?

I guess it's possible that they'll still go ahead with the PMR network upgrade as well, it's likely they still have areas outside the GRN footprint and a P25 PMR network would compliment the GRN nicely?

Shoalhaven district have always been right on the bubble with their radio gear, sounds like they have a couple of good techs in the area or at least the conviction to maintain their radio network properly (pity the same can't be said for their neighbours to the south)?

They are apparently "compiling a list" of radios being denied on the GRN (including one of the FCO's radios) but apart from that the migration seems to be going smoothly, except for a few members that may need a little more training on radio operation that is!

To be fair they have a big advantage on other areas given they have techs employed by Shoalcom... I know of no other LGA that has... The Shoalhaven has some of the best site infrastructure in the state because of SCC.

I'm sure that RFS would need to have P25 PMR for the areas west of Nowra. The GRN cannot cover some of those mountain goat areas, though Eurobodalla is much tougher.

We went through the same issues with radios- willing to wager that most will be incorrect IDs programmed and database issues. These things happen when dealing with hundreds of radios.

I am hearing some bits and peices from the RFS down here on the GRN.
Today I heard TG 30001, 30010 and 30009.
I have put them into the Fire Flood and Storm stream on Far South Coast Scan.
I think this is the only stream to have the Monaro RFS on it. I can get them most of the time off Brown Mountain so if they are on that site you should hear them.

Are you saying Monaro RFS PMR is patched into GD51 Monaro?
