Im guessing the frequency range of the radios still gives them access to the simplex analog ESO AIR channel etc, which is likely all they need.
I cannot fathom why they would ever need access to ESO channels anyway, If the situation arose that someone would be guiding a chopper in i'd say that would be the task of the senior NSWA person on scene.
SLS rubber duckies get called out by the police down here all the time, although they don't usually communicate with each other directly, they call back to their base, who ring VKG, who gets onto the car crew and so on... all of which usually means there's a few minutes delay in messages getting through.

Most people have enough trouble operating their radios in the normal course of their duties without trying to navigate their way to an ESO channel!

Illawarra regions DMR network is live and operating. The Maddens Plains site gets into many parts of Sydney quite well if you have the means to monitor.

The ambulance helicopters aren't the only users of that channel. It's used by all emergency services that SLSNSW may interact with from time to time.

Granted though that on review of their channel plan it's not even programmed, so is kind of a mute point anyway!

Short of somebody posting a radio profile this list based on the ACMA appears to be all the repeaters covering northern and southern beaches along Sydney

Maddens Plains 473.8000 - DMR
Port Kembla 472.9500 - DMR

In the past the following format was used for say the northern beaches

There is a channel set layout, however each patrol has different channels programmed to accomodate their local repeaters. As such there would be no 'standard' radio profile.

It would appear their current channel layout is essentially as you posted, and is listed on pages 108/109 of the following document:
https://www.surflifesaving.com.au/membe ... ations.pdf

A list of all their repeater locations are listed on this document:
https://www.surflifesaving.com.au/news/ ... vice-2.pdf

Based on those docs I wonder if there may be a further repeater at Manly, as it's listed separately as 'Warringah (Manly)'.

Digital radios have already been rolled out in QLD for SLSA. At the moment they have to use a Kenwood Analogue PMR radio for any cross border comms with NSW.

Queensland are on NXDN and NSW will eventually will migrate to DMR, so analog will probably will suffice for the time being. One would assume that the border surfcoms will get allocated a radio from the other state when DMR is commissioned for the nsw far north coast.
