Hi all

Can anyone tell me weather ASNSW's PMR Network is in P25 or analog?
I can't really see why it would be analog, but i can't see NAC codes either

Thanks

Notice the CTCSS tones in the listing? It's analog.

A better question would be will they change over the PMR allocations to P25? Or maybe something else?

With the statewide expansion of the GRN that's where they'll eventually end up.

GRN now expanding into northern NSW (I see 3 sites thus far online in the Manning area). I hear KJ OHUN on it along with F/R so good guess Mike (not a hard one but a good one).

Only the cops and RFS wasted money going P25 conventional before the GRN expansion. Of them only 1 will compete being forced onto the GRN because they think they're better than the rest.

You could add FRNSW and the SES to that list as well. Certain sections of the cops are already over onto the GRN too.

Cheers

Mungindi ASNSW switched to the Old Mungindi Police Analogue 468.450 freq after NSW Police Changed over to P25 PMR earlier this year.

Now Mungindi has had a GRN site (site 286) now for over 2 years, and yet none of the local Services have started to use it.

I'd say the reason none have started using it, is for the fact there are limited neighbouring GRN Sites in the region to provide good coverage.

The closest neighbouring GRN Sites are:
215 Collarenebri 84klm to the SW and
214 Lightning Ridge 108klm West
238 Mt Kaputar 183klm SE between Moree and Narrabri.

Over the past 2 years, Site 286 Mungindi has had no Active Transmissions during my 7 visits to Mungindi apart from the Control Channel.
