New Rescue Call Signs from 4 Sept
New Rescue Call Signs from 4 Sept
I gather by the news this morning that as from 0800hrs tomorrow, the ASNSW Rescue will cease and will be done by NSWFB.
It maybe interesting to see some new "Rescue" call signs in NSWFB.

Re: New Rescue Call Signs from 4 Sept
Yep the fun begins
Well as everyone would have heard, Ambulance Rescue within the Metropolitain areas will be dispended as of tomorrow 04/09/08 at 08:00hrs with NSW Fire Brigades taking over the Primary Rescue Role.
Yep, you are on the right track about where the Heavy Rescue Appliances are heading, but these are only Temp relocations untill crews are trained up, and the heavy rescue appliances may not return to their original stations yet, as some will be relocated.
I'll post further information later tonight (when I have time) on New Rescue Stations to come online and the temporary relocation of Heavy Rescue Appliances to provide coverage till station crews are trained up.
Cheers
Grant

Wollongong and Newcastle were already primary. They just "shared" with PRS and Ambos.
Re: New Rescue Call Signs from 4 Sept
Officially as I understand it, 260 Newcastle was only Secondary, but Primary for USAR.JimK wrote:Wollongong and Newcastle were already primary. They just "shared" with PRS and Ambos.
503 Wollongong only held joint Primary Rescue between 18:00 to 08:00, daytime it converted back to Ambulance & Police Rescue with no response (Officially) by NSWFB as a Primary Service during the day.

Newcastle are also joint primary, similar set up to the Gong. They will just get more "primary" time now.
Re: New Rescue Call Signs from 4 Sept
I have been away from home over the last 24 hrs but I could have sworn I heard over the radio today coming back on the F3 that the Ambulance Rescue guys have said that they are still going to turn up to incidents. Given that the Minister has legally removed their right to attend, won't they be treated as non-emergency, civilians like the rest of us and be told to move on by the police.

As of late last night, the Fire Brigade Comm's Centres had not received any updated instructions from the Police Rescue Coordinator nor State Rescue Board.
The IC can only direct the Ambulance Service Management to leave the Rescue Paramedics on the Rescue Trucks, this I think does not have any bearing on the decision made by the State Rescue Board, so as far as we know, NSWFB is still the rescue providers now.

08 Liverpool will only be running a Pump/Rescue until such time as 87 Rosemeadow has Qualified Rescue Operators on each shift and 87 Rosemeadow Pump is equipped as a Pump/Rescue, and then the Heavy Rescue may be returned to 8 Station.
