rescue 424 - aerials on roof

Post by cartman » Mon Aug 23, 2010 5:06 pm

Passed the zone office this morning in port macquarie and saw rescue 424 parked briefly in the street. Noticed 4 aerials on the roof of the truck vs 3 aerials on the command 4 wheel drives also parked there, any ideas as to what is what? On 424 there was one metal aerial and the other 3 were black. I suppose one would be the country uhf radio that we hear on 419mhz and there would a aerial for the mobile. In particular is there a mdt network in the country? Grant

Most of the New Truck’s these days come with arrange of Aerials and their Coax already pre installed which includes the folllowing:
1x UHF Comm’s Centre Anteena
1x UHF Fire Ground Antenna
1x UHF CB Antenna (Country Stations)
1x Mobile Phone Antenna
1x Street Nav Antenna
1x MDT Antenna
1x MDT GPS Antenna
So only the Communication’s items (Radio's Etc) needs to be fitted based on where the appliance is being Stationed at.

But generally, if it is a New Appliance put into service in the past 2 years, you can guarantee they will have the following as a minimum:
1x Moto 5000 Series Comm’s Centre Radio
1x Moto 2500 Series Fire Ground Radio
1x Mobile Phone
1x Sat Nav
