They are testing new Telstra IP links to the DRNOCC. These are the links I referred to some time back that replace the highly compressed "JTEC" links currently being used. During these tests they use the back up radio links- which is why you were seeing the 200xxxx IDs. This will be repeated at all of the Comcens over the next few weeks.

Cheers,

I can now confirm that Merimbula 395 is on the GRN on TG 10120

Anyone got a recording of the stop message from Moore Park Supacenter? be interested what the cause is if its known yet, was in the harvey norman dock (about 30ft from one of the aircon vents that had flames coming out of it) when it started.

Hi all
Thanks Richard for confirming the migration status down here.

I have had a look through this thread but don't think I have found an answer.
A few days ago I used to hear all appliances on TG 10120 so if for example 395 came up on air I could also hear 503 or etc. The TGs were all patched in together.
This morning now it seems that different talkgroups are comming up, mainly 10125 and I think it was 10121 and I can't hear any other areas vehicles. So I can't hear 503, 422 etc. I can always hear the Wollongong comms dispatchers.
If this is a normal situation wouldn't the dispatchers in Wollongong have trouble with different areas appliances talking over each other?
Or is it a fault with the system today?

It sounds like an SO has taken the patch between 301 & 306 off in error. It can wait until tomorrow... It is a new talk group so it is to be expected that this kind of mistake could be made. It does increas the risk of "double mic'ing" but the amount of traffic out of the South Coast isn't likely to cause a problem under normal conditions.

Thanks Richard.
Being a new setup things like this are bound to happen. Like you said its not that busy down here (especially today) so it doesn't matter too much for a day or so.
Thanks again for the explaination

Hi all, yeah Richard that problem with D306 being selected was a bit more wide spread. i saw it here too and in the Highlands too so probably more a console. actually noticed TG's being switched around all weekend and at time of writing its on D304.
cheers

I'm sure the problem (if you want to call it that) is that one or two of the operators are using "multi-select" instead of "patching" the talkgroups together? I'm not even sure they would see any difference as they're still hearing all TGs?

If you're using UniTrunker, watch the patches tab (of the System screen) and you'll see a number of patches will appear for a few seconds when W/gong comms talks and then disappear when they cease transmitting, also on the site screen I'm getting heaps of "Adds" when they start talking and "Drops" when they finish. The ACTESA use multi-select on various ACT talkgroups all the time as well, it does some weird things up there too when they select ENC & clear TGs at the same time!

As Mark said, it's a PITA because nobody actually gets any traffic from the other talkgroups, only the one affiliated with the GRN site, resulting in a heap of one-sided conversations!

Hi all, ............... or get nothing at all. now it apears we were running on D301 (10120) till about 1804 last night then patches(between D301 (10120) and D304(10123)) got addded and removed a few times and ended up finally getting removed.
now depending on what program your watching at 2237 D304 (10123) added D306(10125) and its been that way ever since. that was on Pro96.com. now this is showing current.
on Unitrunker different story something happened at 2237 RID 16269( yes short RID i know, but looking at the patches screen its apparently something to do with D304) added D304(10123) then 16269 added 6027, then on the following line 16269 added 24175. now that patch apparently ended at 0115. the 10123-10125 patch still shows current though.
now im confused but the end result is apart from one single log at 2234 from 488 hazmat bravo, there hasnt been a single thing gone on on Mt Gray since 2015 last night.
really weird but seeing these odd patches a bit lately.
cheers
