OK,

SEV is not a Callsign, its a Fleet asset. The SEV takes on the Station Appliance they are Temporally Replacing.
If an SEV is assigned to a Task Force, then it takes on the Callsign ST-P = Strike Team Pump or ST-T = Strike Team Tanker with the "Number" as seen on the door below the SEV Lettering.

In Regional areas where SEV's are stored at a Regional Stations, and if the Station is given authorisation to use the appliance by feet as a 2nd Appliance, they use the "Sierra" prefix after the Station No: ie: if stored at 386 Stn = 386 Sierra Pump.

The Callsign "Composite" isn't authorised anymore, official callsign will either be Tanker-T, CAFS Tanker - CT, Rescue Tanker - RT or Hazmat Tanker - HT.

It was announced earlier this year, all New Type 2 Appliances - Iveco Pumps onwards in the future will be delivered as CAFS Pumps.

A couple of callsigns that have left confused me in the recent past
I have heard LSE93 at Narellan
I have heard also LSB357 at Lambton
Maybe I misheard but that is what I thought I heard

I’m thinking you may have misheard slightly and that it was ‘LSV’ - Logistics Support Vehicle.

Both Lambton and Narellan have LSV’s.

There is also a "TS" or Technical Support Vehicle that isn't on the list, station 217 (Batemans Bay) has one but it's on loan to 384 (Moruya) at the moment. No idea what it actually is or does but station 384 seems to roll it with the rescue pumper on every single call they go to, wouldn't be surprised if it's just a troop carrier?

Might be better if the list on page 1 was in alphabetical order too?

The "Technical Support Vehicles (TSV)" was a concept that didn't quiet get of the ground.

Two Technical Support Vehicles had been delivered and in place at their perspective locations, with a 3rd on order:
1st - Batemans Bay - "Eurobodalla TST" Iveco Light Pump was the first TSV established. Cluster Stations were: 217 Batemans Bay, 236 Braidwood, 398 Narooma and 384 Moruya.

2nd - Muswellbrook - "Upper Hunter TST" Isuzu Cat7 Light Tanker is in place at Muswellbrook. Cluster Stations were: 392 Muswellbrook, 208 Aberdeen, 283 Denman, 390 Murrurundi, 443 Scone and 444 Singleton. A Station Officer (SO) was in Position for over 6 months, and the Position was Advertised again in June.

3rd - Albury "Hume TST" Iveco Light Pump Vehicle ordered, SO Position Advertised. Cluster Stations were: 206 Albury Nth, 209 Albury Civic,
272 Culcairn, 324 Holbrook, 268 Corowa, 466 Tumbarumba, 322 Henty.

The Concept was for around 30 "Technical Support Teams (TST)" made up of a Station Officer (SO) & 1 Permanent FF staffing a Technical Support Vehicle on a Day Shift Bases with After-hour Response to incidents as needed. The 30 0dd TSV would be equipped with Specialized HAZMAT Gear/Gas Detectors, Drome, Rescue, Incident Management Gear and have a Initial Fire Attack Capability. The TST Members would be crossed trained as HAZMAT, Swift Water Rescue, Drome, EMR and Rescue Operators.

The TST Concept was for each TST to be based in a central location of a Cluster of 3 to 6 Retained stations. Each TST would roam between the Cluster Stations, spending a Day in each Township/Station Area providing a Visual Presence in the Community and support to those Cluster Stations in undertaking Fire Prevention & Planning, Community Engagements, Retained Station Training, Retained Mentoring and Retained Retention and Covering Station Staff Shortages as needed . . . while providing Emergency Response in support to those Cluster Stations Crews, Mentoring in Incident Management and also in support to other Emergency Services - Police, Ambulance, RFS, SES and VRA.

Funding had been provided for about 6 Trial Technical Support Teams in the 2021/34 Budget. The approach was to supply the TSV to the identified Location and Recruit a SO and provide 1x Retained FF in the first instance as the Staffing Element, and in time Recruit 1x Permanent FF to make the Staffing SO & 1PFF per Team in time. It was planned over something like 5 years, to recruit a further SO & 1PFF and increase the TST to Back to Back Roster, so Two Shifts of SO & 1PFF working 4 Days on, 4 Days Off.

I don't know the full story, but I had applied for the Upper Hunter TST Station Officers Position, and was advised I was unsuccessful in my application. About 2 weeks later I found out, from a Inspector that the Technical Support Teams Concept Trial had been Cancelled, this was again confirmed about a month later by a close friend within the know as well . . . main reason given was the Staffing became an Industrial Issue.

The current TS vehicles will be dissolved by their Zones at one of the Zones Stations . . . I think the Muswellbrook TSV is assigned as 392LT Now.

Shame really, as in time I think these Technical Support Teams would have provided FRNSW a major community presence in Regional NSW and much needed support element to our Retained and RFS, SES and VRA Volunteers likewise. I was quiet keen on the idea and even though I was unsuccessful in my application, I was hoping I would be able to apply and getting one of the other Station Officer positions as they came up.

Thanks for the info, muchly appreciated! Seems incredible that Batemans Bay got the first one ever, but I guess someone has to get the first one.

They aren't calling it "Eurobodalla TST" though, it's simply "TS217" and there doesn't seem to be a dedicated crew as the local 384 captain usually rolls the RP and the DC rolls the TS (going by the voices on the radio anyway).

I'll keep an ear out as to whether it gets reassigned as a Light Tanker and get back to you.

I did sent you a PM.

The TSV were never meant to be assigned to a Station, that's why it has Eurobodalla Technical Support on the side and not 217 Batemans Bay.

As the TSV would also respond after hours, in the original business paper it states a member of the TST would be permitted to take the vehicle home over night to allow for a speedy response during night calls.

Realistically, if they did away with the requirement to have the TSV equipped with a Quick Attack Capability (Pump & Water Tank), they probably could equip the Technical Support Teams with a Cab Chassis Ute & Canopy Setup like the Duty Commanders vehicles . . . even reduce the manning to 1, as they would always be responding in support of a Station Crew anyway

That first image of TS217 (or Eurobodalla TST if you like) was taken at the Mogo Fire Training Centre... spent a few long days (and nights) there myself!

You can see the smoke house just behind the trucks (with the safety railings on the roof).
