New FRNSW Channels - August 2014
Re: New FRNSW Channels - August 2014
Thanks JAFO for the confirmation. Thinking back it probably has been a couple of months since I have listened in with any interest.
Garry, re the maps with zones. There was a Google Earth .kmz map file around which had each station marked and colour coded to the zone/region it belonged to. While it didn't have boundaries marked, it would now (with the new channels) give a good indication what station is on what channel. I'm sure someone here will still have a link for the download.

Wonky . . . Yes.Wonky wrote:With the new profile have all of the operational TG's had a change to their alpha tags?
For example, the Fire Ground Channels such as "510 FG 10" are now Tac Channels - "510 Tac 10"

The Google Earth kmz map file would only be any good for those station's within the GRN footprint area.
For stations outside the GRN Footprint, most of the channels are allocated to Township areas such Albury . . . Wagga . . . Culcain/Henty etc, not a wide area or zone allocation

Is that in the APX portables? I thought I seen TASK used instead of FG. Or is that for the Talkgroup Incident channels?JAFO wrote:For example, the Fire Ground Channels such as "510 FG 10" are now Tac Channels - "510 Tac 10"

The New GRN Channel Profile were loaded up a couple of months ago while I was on Annuals.
To tell you the truth, I really have not had a look at the new profile, I do know each Zone now has it's own Channel - so 101 ME1, 102 ME2, 103 ME3, 104 MS1, 105 MS2, 106 MS3, 107 MW1, 108 MW2, 109 MW3 . . . etc etc (not 100% true indication)
I think . . . the '600 Special Operational' channels have been dropped and replaced by 'Zone Task or Tac' Channels, and the '500 Fire Ground Channels' are now either listed as '500 Task' or something like that.
I really haven't paid much attention to the new channels since coming back to work . . . might have to have a look tomorrow when I check over the Pump.

Re: New FRNSW Channels - August 2014
For anyone interested, I managed to find the file I was referring to earlier. It's on a US fire website:
http://www.extraalarm.org/Google_Earth/ ... er/Sydney/
The main file of interest is named 'FR-NSW_Stations_and_Apparatus.kmz'
Each station is colour coded to the zone/region it belongs to, so will assist in identifying what radio channel a station is likely to be operating on, at least in the GRN areas. As JAFO pointed out it's not as useful for areas outside the GRN, but that's what the ACMA database is for

Hi JAFO,
The old "INCIDNT" became "TASK"
The old "SO" became "TACT"
Cheers

Just noticed on the nswgrn.com site...
10197 514 TSKGRN1
10198 515 TSKGRN2
10199 516 TSKGRN3
My Unitrunker log says all three have been used fairly recently with the 10197 used the most.
