NSW wide frequencies

Post by cartman » Mon Jan 16, 2012 8:19 pm

Over the last couple of weeks while on sick leave I have been trawling through the ACMA database - in particular Customs, AFP and NSW Police. Over the years I have noticed that there are often subtle changes on the older licences and unless you are looking very carefully it is very easy to miss. Licences 48496, 48504, 48512 and 48534 were issued in 1988 and i would suspect were the analog equivalent of nsw wide mobile vehicle use (I don't have an old copy to check against). On these licences there was no obvious location information on the "400Mhz Govt/Non-Govt" frequency list so I did some further investigation. It turns out that they are the P25 version of mobile NSW wide mobile vehicle licences. They may or may not be in use at Gloucester where there is a manhunt currently taking place.

Licence
48496 Input 459.5500 25w nsw
48496 Output 469.0500 25w nsw
"Channel 49"

48504 Input 458.5375 25w nsw
48504 Output 468.0375 25w nsw
"Vote 108"

48512 Input 458.5375 25w nsw
48512 Input 458.3375 25w nsw Note: 10Mhz split
48512 Output 468.3375 25w nsw
48512 Output 468.5375 25w nsw
"Vote 108"

48534 Input 458.8125 25w nsw Note: 10Mhz split
48534 Input 458.5375 25w nsw
48534 Output 468.8125 25w nsw
48534 Output 468.5375 25w nsw
"Vote 108"

Some notes:
1. All 25 watt duplex - NSW wide coverage - with a 10K1F1E emission designator.
2. These frequencies are not to be confused with the Sydney Metro Vote 108 found on
468.03750 Tx Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) Showgrounds, Homebush Bay
468.03750 Tx Maroubra
468.33750 Tx Remington Building, Sydney
468.81250 Tx Terrey Hills
These ACMA listed frequencies have been always encrypted since their inception back in 2005 - long before the GD channels switched over.
3. I think Channel 49 popped up one year at the Easter Show in clear P25
4. In the NSW wide version one of the Vote 109 channels is used - 468.5375

Grant,

The Channels that would be used in NOWENDOC would be SPG encrypted channels as well as possibly vhf because of the hilly terrain.

I'll ask one of the cammo's from our tamworth office to see if they picked up any encrypted stuff while they were up ther
