I wonder how forthcoming our local police are with releasing stuff to the media.
Last week, an old bloke stabbed his wife to death in Lismore. Was daytime and the media was on the scene not long after the police. Scanners, no doubt.
Yesterday, before the sun was up, I heard a crime scene being organized at a rural location. VKG was asked to organize VRA to bring a tarpaulin to "cover the bodies".
Not a word in the local paper or on the ABC radio websites, yet.
I guess, being so early in the day, the media wasn't listening and no one has told them????
Or, maybe they have been told not to mention it?
Whatever "it"was.

Re: Media
I know there are some codes of conduct for the media about reporting on suicides, which is why suicides are rarely reported on, yes we do see reports about 'murder - suicides', but they fall under the category of a murder and hence the reporting.
