Recently listening to Queanbeyan cars (on ch Sierra) going over the border into the ACT being told to "contact AFP comms on zone 5 channel 45" on NSWPF radios?

My question is... if the NSWPF have analogue in zone 1, P25 conventional in zone 2 and AFP channels in zone 5, what do they have in zones 3 & 4? :?

I always thought Zone 3 was encrypted P25
Not sure what 4 and 5 would be exactly.
It wouldn't be a GRN thing would it?

possibly a specifically programmed zone for inter-agency liason on the border towns...

I know i've heard of Zone 5 in two ways, one being all the Simplex channels and also heard it mentioned in relation to Diplomatic Protection Unit a couple of years ago when the US Vice President was out here...

I was thinking one of the zones may contain ESO liaison channels... although we've been told that liaison with the police is via "1313 ESO AIR 1" (NSWFB) or "ED ESO AIR35" (NSWRFS) which is their "Z1 CH A065" simplex?

wouldn't go comparing general duties radios to radios of those that are part of the special services group, as they'd have their radio's setup alot differently because of all the other ctt liason stuff they have in them for if things ever go pear shaped...

yeah but its no secret that Queanbeyan vehicles have AFP stuff (Zone 5) in them and AFP have NSWP stuff in there radio's. ive heard them go both ways. listening to channel S will give that clue

I just heard "Ku-ring-gai 200" (Hwy Patrol Supervisor) talk direct to TMC on NATO 1 from the scene of an accident?

I guess that means that at least some police radios are already on the GRN?

TMC has a police officer based on there at least during the day, so yeah they would have access...

I believe they have the full spectrum of channels as the rta used to co-ordinate green light corridors for High Risk Escorts
