JAFO, I was asking Kev, its possible he was hearing a different TG. Im aware that the correct one is 57440.

Appears that the patch is on Channel India today

Cheers,

Realise that, but as Kev and I both listen to Kurrajong, 57440 is all I heard all day on both Kurrajong & Glenbrook.

Today Radio15 was testing in the Campbelltown District, so that district in the clear on Horsley Park from around 11:00am this morning.

Channel India still ptached in at 6.40am Friday.
I suspect that they will be probably here Friday all day as well, as the channel covers a very large physical area .... it is probably a 2 day job for site testing

VKG Ch X on GRN Sunday Afternoon

Post by E=MC2 » Mon Aug 25, 2008 10:10 am

Sunday afternoon the VKG TG 57440 was on Ch X heard Penrith 14 working VKG Ch X re HERT Helo about a 35 year old male who was rxing CPR Via St John's Ambo's at an oval at Castlereagh, now the late 35 year old male who was pronounced dead on site by Helo 22 or 24 as both were in the area at the same time. The other job was a male spear tackle at St Mary's and was taken by helo to West Mead. I have noted the Ambo's Radio Op's use the calsign Helo and the birds No ie Helo 22 not Rescue 22. It seems to be a better way to go as the Road Rescue units now use Rescue 6 say, not 906. I have done more scanner rxing in the last week than I have done since May. I was one of the very few who put there hand up to say I was a VKG rxer only. I have enjoyed rxing VKG a lot again but it wont last so I will take what I can get. HI It is great to see all of the old hands JAFO, Grant / cartman, Mike / Mike Alpha, Kev, and so on have joined up again hi 73z Richard E=MC2

"Rescue 24" is a truck, not a helicopter.

Ambos have 2 spare rescue trucks "Rescue 24" and "Rescue 100"

I have too heard a couple of operators on their operations channels call them "Helo 22", but the chopper answers "Rescue 22", as that is their CASA and ACMA call sign.

Right then it must have been 23 not 24, thanks for the heads up It could be a problem it the future using the 2 call signs for the one unit when things are 9/11 like. Richard E=MC2 ; - )

Rescue 22 was the helo going to the Penrith Speedway from memory, rescue 23 was at the St. Marys job.

At the Penrith Speedway Job, Penrith 14 came up on Ch X trying to find out where Rescue 22 was landing at, for transporting the medical crew. Two EPC 14 & 10 were also responded from Penrith, but a Richmond Ambulance Crew (Richmond I think) was the first on site and declared a Code 2 around the same time Rescue 22 came overhead.

Was at work today, spend a couple periods playing around with the scanner while at work, but did not hear any Police activity on the GRN Talkgroup while plying around.
