Sydney Basin

Post by citabria » Fri May 20, 2016 11:44 am

Is there a list of vote groups or channels listed by inputs and outputs for the Sydney area at all?

Cheers,
Matt

The list on RR has all the vote groups and has the common inputs. The page suggests updates were made this year, however it is unlikely to be completely up to date as no too many people would need to the info nowadays.

Although it is 8 years old it still is more or less accurate for worksgroups and special ops channels.

Have been rechecking frequencies for VKG this week after I noticed that there have been numerous changes at the end of 2017 (which i had missed at the time during my normal browsing of the ACMA listing).

One of the odd things i had noticed through my recent loggings was that Foxtrot radios frequently appeared on Echo and vice versa, which i put down to the two channels patched together for operational reasons. I now discovered how after I updated my channel listings off the ACMA. They share a common repeater off the Remington Building Sydney on 468.5500 and both use the same NAC. When it is on E and F channels are combined and w.hen it is off E and F effectively split into separate channels. (Yes it is all encrypted so I have no idea what they are saying). I have never seen this arrangement before

============================
CHANNEL ECHO - Vote 22 - Input 458.8750
468.3750: Strathfield Railway Station, Westfield Burwood, Rhodes Shopping Centre, Olympic Park Railway Station Homebush Bay
468.5500: Ashfield, RAS Showgrounds Homebush Bay
============================
CHANNEL FOXTROT - Vote 37 - Input 459.2500
467.9375: Broadway Shopping Centre, Leichhardt Marketplace, Marrickville Metro Shopping Centre
467.9750: Westfield Burwood
468.5500: Remington Bldg Sydney
468.7500: Remington Bldg Sydney, Roselands

This has something to do with reengineering. I dont remember the details but one of these two channels was done away with. Cant remember if it was foxtrot or echo. But when Burwood and Ashfield merged to be burwood Pac and Marrickville and newtown became inner west Pac,There was a bit of channel juggling with differnt Pacs moving to different channels. So when they merged them i think one of these channels became obsolete.

I am guessing, but I would say the system would still be set up so they could break the channel into two if there was a major incident. That is definitely the case in country areas, so I can only assume Sydney would have a similar set up.

E has totally gone. Nothing remains in place, any incident of sufficient size will be directed to a SO channel.

Copy that. No more Echo
Well in that case Foxtrot has two votes covering their area

Yep can confirm Echo has been disbanded. Burwood Pac( old burwood and ashfield lac) moved to Foxtrot and Inner west (newtown and Marrickville) moved to channel 4.

There are something interesting enteries appearing on the ACMA database today (16/5/18)

469.5625 Oak Flats - Vote 117 Input (458.7625) - ROMEO SOUTH
469.7375 Windsor - Vote 109 Input (458.5625) - JULIET
469.7625 Springwood - Vote 44 Input (459.425) - JULIET

Last friday another couple of frequencies appeared for a back channel, including 467.8375Mhz at Warragamba

I am wondering whether this is the start of a large-scale reorganisation of the police frequencies in the Government band between 467.5 and 470Mhz, given that the current ACMA MS22 exception for less than 10Mhz Tx/Rx split runs out on 31/12/2018. Not a simple task as the Ambulance and RMS have now also moved onto the band mainly in the country but also in the metro eg 468.5125 at Concord Hospital and 468.8375Mhz for the RMS SW Pylon Harbour Bridge

Any thoughts or opinions.
