Expanding South
Re: Expanding South
What is the latest on the P25 changeover down south.? They must be getting close to finalising the far south coast for encryption. The terrain mind you is very mountainous. I suspect Uniiform will go over at the same time so that Sierra and Uniform can be patched together overnight

Re: Expanding South
Still clear last night. I am expecting it anytime though.
Like you said the terrain is a nightmare for any sort of comms.

You normally get a months warning via the Police Media Unit.
They love the weekday 15th of the Month as a rule, at midday.
15th May is a Sunday
15th June is a Wednesday.

Re: Expanding South
That's handy to know, thanks Cartman
Re: Expanding South
Apparently Sierra and Uniform will be encrypted midday 31st May
The information has appeared on another scanning site but it is my understanding that this is based on a recent announcement on the NSWPF intranet site
Nothing yet on the various police media sites

Re: Expanding South
Bugger
Thanks Grant, looks like the 31st is a Tuesday. I didn't think Uniform was fully digital yet but I guess it must be if it's going over to the dark side as well.
Another sad day for the hobby. I think that's pretty much the entire southern half of NSW gone then.

Re: Expanding South
As somebody pointed out elsewhere there is only Q, Y and Z left, all out of Tamworth.
All the new digital frequencies have been listed on acma ... just a matter of the techs on normal working time installing it piece by piece.

Re: Expanding South
That may possibly relate to the new frequency listing for Timbillica as reported here:
