Here on the North Coast, I often hear agencies liaising with police on regular police VHF channels.
VRA
SES
Fishing Inspectors
RSPCA
RFS
Westpac Helo.
Probably others.
Re: VHF CHANNEL FOR POLICE
ive heard some rose bay HWP cars on there doing a blood run not long ago. they came from north of sydney but instead of going over to Z2 they stayed on CH X and continued onto westmead, then from there picked up another lot of med supplies and headed to RPA all while staying on X. prob a good idea not tying up a lot of channels?

Re: VHF CHANNEL FOR POLICE
I think they stay on Channel X for RTA's TMC to co-ordinate green lights.
I have only heard the TMC on an encrypted channel for a specific task ie when there was a high level state visit like the Chinese Premier, otherwise they are confined to analogue like everybody else.
I heard Air Patrol 1 call up this morning to advise they were going on a run from Wollongong to Palm Beach and return.
VKG just acknowledged the advice.

Re: VHF CHANNEL FOR POLICE
I recently heard an Oscar car call the TMC operator and ask him to check with VKG about the situation at an accident. The operator replied saying that ever since the cops switched to encryption, they don't have the facility to call them up on the air.cartman wrote:I think they stay on Channel X for RTA's TMC to co-ordinate green lights.

But a few weeks ago, I heard Oscar 9 call VKG on CH X to tell them that they were on the way to a truck crash on the M7.
So it seems some know how to call VKG and others don't.
