Hi all,
All the local cars were encrypted last weekend when i went to Mittagong. I'll check again today in my travels. As Matt said all cars outside the vote weren't. The Portables in that area have been encrypted for some time now.
Cheers

I was monitoring Mittagong police on 78.3625mhz and 469.025mhz up until recently but both have disappeared. Any clues??

Hi all,Probably something to do with the encryption being used on the local digital vote group. The local cars and portables seem to be encrypted sometimes the Goulburn vote too however the dispatcher and votes further out seem to be in the clear. Sometimes i notice the local cars can sometimes come back to clear.
Given Ch W is now all digital(and most of Ch S and parts of Ch U) and all cars virtually in Southern region would have to be digital capable there probably isn't a need to have the analog liason channels on anymore at the Gib.

Sounds like the Nowra area has gone encrypted. As of Wednesday morning.

Are you sure? They have been having some radio troubles all day (not being able to hear cars at all) but whether that was caused by the move or not I don't know.

I can still hear Nowra cars (in the clear) being patched through the Far South LAC, although the same can be said for channel romeo when that's patched in and we know that's encrypted.

It just doesn't seem to make much sense encrypting Nowra when the south eastern end of channel sierra isn't even digital yet?
