Console rids

With the latest scanners like uniden 396 and psr800 it is possible to see the radio ids on the encrypted p25 network frequencies. The dispatcher ids comes up as the channel ID eg "23" for Alpha, normally two or three digits depending on the vote number, whereas cars, portables and base stations normally appear with a six digit ID. However in the last two weeks or so some odd ids have appeared. I have seen 1019 on Golf and I believe matt1983 has sighted 1037 and 1038 on his local channels. Possibly a new system coming in or perhaps radio techs. Any ideas

Dont know i only ever see 1 or 5 apart from the local vote rid's. interestingly the police have a TG'id of 65535 on the 396 however the P25 RFS vote has a TG of 1?

Cartman, are you viewing these radio ID's on the PMR network or the GRN? If the PMR, could you advise if is it on the 396XT scanner itself or using software? I'm keen to see if I can log this info if you are referring to the PMR system. All I can seem to be able to view is the NAC.

Scotty,

It is PMR and you create a new P25 One Freq Trunk system. Create a site, in the Trunk Frequencies enter a PMR frequency. In General enter the data as your require, quick key etc. Then ID search the system, you will see the ID's and hear the audio.

PMR P25 encryption
Audio courtesy of Mr Squiggle
The NAC and Radio id appear on the PSR800
It's not the numbers that appears alternately tg 4095
These seem to be console ids

Thanks as well Grant.

I've programmed in a couple of channels on the 396XT over the last couple of hours as per the details from Russell above to see what I could decode.

Unfortunately on all channels I tested this morning the 396XT only appears to decode the ID as '1' (units) or '4095' (operator), which appear to be the standard ID's on a Moto P25 system, and doesn't display individual radio ID's.

I believe those are the P25 conventional talkgroup ID's - not the radio IDs.

Yeah correct. As I said I can't get the 396XT can decode the individual radio ID, and it may not be possible with that model (maybe only the PSR800?).

Hi all,

The XT's decode the RID's fine. Mine show up all the time on the one freq trunk systems ive created. I have noticed some of the Zone 2 stuff like the Southern Highlands Vote wont show the car RIDS even if there transmitting in the local vote. only RID ive ever seen up there is 4. on the Hunter valley and port stephens vote ive only ever seen 5.
Down my part of the world on the Z3 stuff i only see console id's of 1 or 5. the TG that comes up on the one freq trunk is 65535, which from what ive read opens up the mute on all radios on a trunked system.
cheers all
Matt
