Post by aircadet » Sun Nov 04, 2012 7:14 pm

Heard lifesaver one today advise they will monitor Zone 1 channel 67 for the comms with local police in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney. Anyone know that Freq??

Cheers!

I'm thinking it would have been Z1 57 - the ESO air liasion channel.

Yes they advised on the ESO channel would be monitoring channel 67.... but may well have been 57!! They are always hard to copy..... will have to listen sometime when in the area..

Cheers

Now that I've said that, channel 57 or 'Z1 LOCAL 57' isn't the standard air channel of 468.5750 - it's 469.1625. It is listed as being the 'channel for helicopters' though, so I don't know what the go is there. The standard ESO air liasion simplex channel of 468.5750 in their profile is Z1 channel 65, 'Z1 LOCAL 65'. Confused? I know I am!

Even if they did have access to zone 1 channel 67 they wouldn't be able to use it as a liasion as it is a duplex channel and there is no repeater for it nearby.

Confusing...!! guess a simplex channel would make sense if they are close by to each other. Heard Southern highlands police today advised to change to to Z 1 chnl 57 to talk direct to ambo rescue chopper.

Cheers
