Hi Folks
I’ve recently purchased a Whistler TRX-1. I currently run a collection of Uniden scanners including 996XTs, so I’m not unfamiliar with trucking scanners, but I’m struggling to configure the TRX-1 to receive the NSW GRN. I’m using EZscan to program. I have created the system as Project25 with voice=digital. I’ve currently only created one site as a test (Beecroft, my local) set the control channel 416.8875MHz. Set trunking tables. But nothing. The TRX-1 sits silently while the Uniden beside it decodes activity from the same site. I’ve even tried entering all site frequencies, not just the control channel, but again, no joy.

Has anyone managed to get these working on the NSW GRN? Any tips pearls of wisdom would be appreciated.

Have you assigned a Talkgroup (Wildcard) and attached it to a Scanlist (eg Scanlist 1)

Hi. Thanks for your reply. Yes. Ive tried with a wildcard talkgroup and with defined known talkgroups. The talkgroups are assigned to a scan list and the scan list shows as active on the TRX-1 LCD screen. Just no received audio. Its doing my head in.

I would be interested in how to - step by step for entering trunked systems into the TRX-1.
I have pretty well mastered the conventional scanlists + audio record
Just the trunking part of the TRX-1 is not as straightforward as it would seem.
The manual is not very helpful and assumes you have downloaded the RR database as your starting point

Im just loading my config up, but in the mean time, if you add perhaps GPT - 416.1250 in, and play with the squelch. Might be just unlucky and be in a blind spot for Beecroft? If you are able to save your config file to a archive file, and email it to me (private msg me) I can have a look over it as well and send it back with any changes.

Here is how mine is setup, and then obviously with the Talkgroup/RadioID tabs just assign either a wildcard, or a talkgroup ID to a specific Scanlist.

thanks. I'll try another site. However Beecroft decodes perfectly on my 996XT sitting next to it with a local antenna (the TRX-1 is connected to the external discone).
Screen shot of my config below. Most obvious difference is you have site sub type listed as "P25 Auto". Mine are all set to "Auto". But I can see how to change that?

Is the actual system set as Project25 and not Motorola (I think thats for Type II analog systems)
