Velocity Dispatch

Post by matthewn1983 » Sat Jun 29, 2013 4:06 pm

Heard Velocity 181 call Velocity Dispatch on 11132khz USB @ 1340 AEST, was getting advice on a diversion due to poor weather. Radio on the aircraft had issues and Dispatch asked them to goto 9040khz USB where conversation continued. I have heard 9040khz on the 02-06-2013 with a Phone Patch between the aircraft and a doctor via Velocity Dispatch.

Does anyone know if these frequencies belong to Velocity? Or a shared setup?

The only other LDOC frequency I have heard is Jetstar Dispatch on 8855khz USB.

Virgin owns the frequency. According to the ACMA it is Site 15794 at NINGI, Queensland 4511

At this site Virgin Blue has the following frequencies (in Mhz)
3.1945
5.1615
8.1415
9.0415
11.1335
17.4415
20.1615

Also at the same site Airservices Australia has two frequencies - which I suspect is the Volmet broadcast
6.6774
11.3884

The whole HF band use by Virgin, Jetstar and Qantas needs further investigation on the ACMA search function

Would be good to know some more civilian HF frequencies as these days Military comms is harder to find.
Give my HF radio some more use.

Thanks, John.
