Are you running as an administrator? If not it looks like the software has some sort of permission issues when it goes to save a file.
Maybe backup your files and uninstall the software, then reinstall it as an administrator if not. I would suggest maybe contacting the softwares creator and asking them if the software supports Vista correctly.
Sounds like its more of a software compatibility issue then anything, though I have never used this software under Vista myself.

Best thing to do here is to contact the program writer on the ID tracker web site. Sounds like a Vista incompatibility maybe.
I recently gave up on Vista and went back to XP.
Even Microsoft have given up on Vista and are currently working on the next verisons on windoz- windows 7.

Well done. Do you have the audio recording and spectrum display going as well? I have an ever growing list of talk groups at the moment, but many remain unidentified because the techs just key them up to make sure it registers on the network.
I you need any help with ID tracker II just PM me as I have been using this software for logging TGs for a number of years now. Actually since there was only ID Tracker! Number 2 came out not long after the 396 was released to cope with the different setup of dynamic memory.
It's a great piece of software that In my opinion seems to get ignored a bit by people over here, mainly because they don't want to take the time to learn how to use it.
The audio logging is excellent, specially the way it time stamps each hit individually and then groups them under the TGs, which is then simply grouped by systems you have programmed in the scanner.

Makes it easy at the moment to listen to lots of stuff and still only log and audio record certain systems when you get hits on them.

Yes it is a great piece of software. People seem to be confused when using it, because many of the good features can only be accessed while right clicking up the top of the main window. Heard a number of times in the past where people can't get it to do his, or that. Pays to read the help file.
