Motorola TRBO

Post by cartman » Fri Apr 16, 2010 12:04 pm

Has anybody located a live TRBO digital signal in Sydney
Trying to get my head around what it sounds like - compared to say NXDN
I think I heard it in Melbourne on 464MHz (Convention Centre)
From my new location I am hearing quite a bit of these new digital signals ... mainly NXDN

Try monitoring Penrith Panthers on 472.400mhz you will hear a synchronization packet every 60secs if no traffic. It is a non trunked repeater site.Possibly used by bar and gaming staff. Main security ch 465.250 analogue a BTW ch at this time.

This site is definitely TRBO

493.525MHz - Merivale (The EStablishment Hotel) 252 George St Sydney

The synchronization packet occurs every 60secs
Any other time is actually conversation taking place

Sounds like a sonic driver

Apparently these TRBO have a characteristic 60 sec pulse (confirmed by somebody who installs them) - like a radio welfare check
Have you heard the Chatswood frequency give out the pulse - i have heard the digital signal on 472.275 from Blacktown but no pulse for some reason

472.275 may have been in simplex. NO TDMA synchronization packet from repeater as 1 frequency = 1channel in simplex but with repeater 1 frequency = 2channels.
