Is it possible to monitor Mototrbo (trunking or simplex) with a trbo radio at all?

Not if the system is using RAS (unless you know the key of course), although DSD doesn't bother checking packet CRCs so it will still receive a system using RAS. And of course encryption is also a factor if used.

Just don't ask me how to setup a MotoTRBO radio... I've never had one.
