NXDN being installed in Port Macquarie

ACMA database shows 12 hits on that designator but they are all licenses to Fettells across 6 or so locations

Maybe someone may a mistake on the application and AMCA did not pickup on it.
Don't like it, either get over it or retire

There is in fact 6 repeater pairs and it is more than likely a NXDN48 Trunking system across the six sites.

The Official meaning is:-

Optional 4th symbol F = Multi-condition code in which each condition or combination of conditions represents a character, and
Optional 5th symbol F = Frequency Division Multiplex

It is interesting that the NZ regulatory authorities use 4F00F1WXF for 6.25 kHz single channel digital voice and data (NXDN designator)

Optional 4th symbol X = Cases not otherwise covered.

See Appendix 1 of this ITU document.

I had a quick listen a couple of days back and heard nothing, (I had line of sight with Mt Cairncross from my mothers place) so it still is being rolled out. Some of these licences appear after the service is up and running, whereas many take a long time from the appearance of the licence.

Thanks re the whole six sites - missed the other four when I was doing a "latest" search. Not the first time Fettell Comms have done interesting things ... at one stage they had several MPT1327 systems running about 7-8 years ago.

Decoder options:
-mp optimize for PSK modulation

-fa Auto-detect all protocols / frame types [-fa]
-fd Decode only D-STAR (no audio)
-fn Decode only NXDN4800 (Kenwood NEXEDGE and Icom IDAS)
-fN Decode only NXDN9600 (Kenwood NEXEDGE)
-fr Decode only DMR/MotoTRBO (TDMA inputs + both output slots)
-f1 Decode only P25 Phase 1
-fx Decode only X2-TDMA
-fp Decode only ProVoice

-xx Expect inverted X2-TDMA signal
-u<num> Unvoiced speech quality (1-64) [-u3]

According to your post, its picking it up as DMR (MotoTRBO) with Colour Code of 1, maybe try '-fr' and see if it cleans it up, you can also run 'DMRDecode' alongside DSDPlus to give you more information of whats happening (if it is infact a DMR system)

http://borg.shef.ac.uk/dmrdecode/ You will need latest Java installed for it to work.

otherwise, try
-fn Decode only NXDN4800 (Kenwood NEXEDGE and Icom IDAS)
-fN Decode only NXDN9600 (Kenwood NEXEDGE)

It should decode any audio passed, as long as the correct option is selected.

Looks like its DMR, might have to adjust the input level.
