SERCO SECURITY

Post by cartman » Sun Aug 11, 2013 11:03 am

Scanning through the Sydney airwaves this morning and was stunned to find a TETRA signal in the 467Mhz band
Turns out that Serco has registered two new TETRA duplex frequencies in June/July 2013 for the Villawood Detention Centre

465.94375 25K0D7W 5w
467.14375 25K0D7W 5w

I can hear 467.14375 from Blacktown, so I am assuming this is a 8 channel trunked TETRA system (1 data channel 7 voice) with the control channel occupying one of the four slots on 467.14375

This is addition to 5w simplex frequencies allocated in February 2011
494.80000 10K1F3E
495.08750 10K1F3E

PS There is a fair bit of 400Mhz TETRA in the Hunter Valley/Newcastle region but nothing active in Sydney up till now. All TETRA in Sydney apart from SERCO is located on the 865-870Mhz trunking band. There is a GMG Solution TETRA entry for Chatswood but havent heard it active yet

465.94375 25K0D7W 5w

Is the active frequency, and reaches as far as Campbelltown with a decent antenna. (Clear voice, nothing exciting)
