Hey,

Anyone know what a 1.0900000 GHz assignment for Airservices Australia at Knights HIll NSW would be for??? And can it be monitored?

Google ADS-B and yes it can with the right equipment, ie: any of the ADS-B receivers and decoders.

I think it is air navigation or SSR and will be data or some sort.

There is a thread running in Air / Aviation about ADSB and I think that frequency gets a mention.

Yes its SSR. ADS-B is a subset of a mode called Mode S.

That particular frequency is used to locate aircraft running Mode A, Mode C and Mode S transponders.
