126.7

Post by criten » Wed Nov 18, 2009 6:56 pm

Is this freq some kind of CTAF? What area? Seems to have lots of aerodromes licensed for it, and Rescue 23 & 24 use a different CTAF freq in my area...

But I picked it up today with close call as "the ghetto bird" flew over. Seemed to be the pilot informing radar of their intentions so that radar could clear the area (it was not a request). There was no mention of callsigns on this freq, other than 'KATOOMBA' and 'ALL BASES'.

They also landed at the unlicensed air strip at Medlow Bath - formerly known as YKAT.

Its massively active across NSW.. Cessnock and Maitland had to move over because there was too much interference on the channel.

yeah i'd agree citabria, seems to be the most common. i dont know why goulburn went to 127.15, i think it gets a bit of interference in the township.

Yep, its definitely the most common - Check AIP ERSA (the "street directory" for pilots) and its listed as the standard CTAF.
