Bathurst 1000 Streams this year

Once again this year Bathurstscan.com will be providing the radio scanner stream for all those interested..

This year I look at running 3 possibly 4 streams .

Options are :

1. Race control only
2. Emerg services, Cops, fire ambo
3. Security Mt panorama
4. Aviation band.
5. V8 teams.

Now saying this, Security , might run only at night when race control in active.. Which frees up a scanner, then when morning arrives each day, will switch back.

You will see what your listening too via winamp or itunes, the link to use will be available on my website when setup. If you have enough computers, could run all streams at same time, upto yourselves.


Look forward to the big race .. also 7mate will be broadcasting live in HD this year, speedtv.com also will be sending the race to USA live. A good outcome for Bathurst 1000.

Yeah, only way to watch it live is via the raw feed on satellite.

Which reminds me... do you know if the TV production crew will be using a monitor-able communications system Dave?

I'd imagine the air-space will be busy with all the choppers circling?

Ahh... security at night on the mountain... I don't know if they've cleaned it up any since I was last there (twenty-odd years ago) but I reckon if I was working security up top I'd want a good baton with me!

Andrew, most years they do, i have most frequencies for them, problem is their squelch open non stop, so cant scan. Open mike feed, which is good , fun listening, but ties up a scanner too much.

Choppers never stop, hear them on 120.8 and 127.35 when near Bx airport.

There are so many cops now, security as well, its pretty lame, although you do hear some good stuff, classic. Cop channel is also good, cant hear the Mt Panorama Command as its All ENC, only hear local channel, which is busy enough. The unusual call signs which appear, certainly a lot of cops travel from interstate.

A special TG is also used for Ambo on the Mt. Normally used by medics back to medic centre if requiring a Rescue chopper. Plenty to hear .

I start scanning a week out , so much is already setup on the weekend before. I drove up the other day, all the structures for grandstands are already up. Its a massive setup.

I also hope they dont slow down the telecast like they did last year.. " timeshift " as they said.. will be very annoyed if they dont keep it live .. Had enough complaints last year, so maybe someone listened.

Makes it hard when they advertise live betting and run a delayed telecast. Wonder I'd it willbe broadcast in hd this year, or are we still living in the 90s.

It will be HD on 7mate this year.. along with normal Prime7 , which wont be HD.

They can throw all the fancy names they like at it like timeshift or whatever, quite simply its delayed and theres no excuse for it. if something happens they can always replay it after the ad break or stop showing 40 billion supercheap ads, there only so funny for so long.
..... can't wait for 10 to get it back.

Security and/or Administrative tasks maybe on MotoTRBO this year .... there is TRBO shown for Bathurst under a temporary licence for Reid Park, Mt Panorama
