Every V8 supercar this weekend at the Queensland Raceway has on the rear window "In memory of Lee Norrish"

Grant
The commentary team did a verbal tribute on the air halfway through race two as well.

Mainly that he was heavily involved with V8 Supercars and many of the teams with setting up radio communications systems etc. and that he will be missed, condolences to his family from all in the V8 Supercar paddock...

It was good to catch up with a few off this forum- just wish it was a happier event. Lee certainly touched a lot of people in a very short life.

Cheers,

Richard

Was good to see you both there, good to put faces to the names after all these years!

I commented to someone earlier tonight that I think the turnout was a fitting tribute to Lee, and a demonstration of how highly respected he is in the community. Dare I say I feel it will be impossible for any one person to fill his shoes and give as much back to the community as Lee did.

I also commented that although it was under a very sad set of circumstances, I must say that I think Lee would have been very amused that so many people from such a wide circle and in some cases many different yet related circles were all there in the one room together today, it was quite a gathering! I know he would have been very humbled by that, and probably somewhat embarassed!

If there is one thing we can take out of this whole sad situation, live every day as though it may be your last! You really do never know when your number may be up.....

Sure was very sad news to hear passing of Lee. He had been a good friend for over 10 years with knowing him via Bathurst races.. I also attended his funeral, sorry I had not met some people from this forum that day .. Ive been in contact with Lees wife melanie over last few weeks since, she is missing him as we all are.. Its a long healing process for some.. Lee was such a good guy.. always out to help anyone he could.

Bathurst wont be the same without his smiling face and helping nature.

Dave
