Newcastle has had two of these networks in place for several years, one for the CBD and the other in Beaumont St.
Oxford St Sydney also has one in place

$220,000 seems like alot of money. Why don't they just rent radios & use one of the city trunk networks.
Re: Entertainment Kings of the Cross take matters into own
I believe what they have in mind is not just a network but a radio room as well, where they will pay staff to monitor the radios, log calls and make the phone calls that are needed,, hopefully, we can monitor it

The UK as had a similar system - known as Pub Watch - for many years. They also have a Shop Watch network, which enables shop keepers etc to alert each other regarding shoplifters. They say we are behind here...Garry wrote:I believe what they have in mind is not just a network but a radio room as well, where they will pay staff to monitor the radios, log calls and make the phone calls that are needed,, hopefully, we can monitor it

Sounds like you will need to be in close proximity to hear what might go on being it's low power.

I suspect that I will be able to hear it from Blacktown mainly because i am at 60 metres plus altitude and have line of sight with the CBD.
Unfortunately i wont be home for a couple more weeks to test the theory out

Re: Entertainment Kings of the Cross take matters into own
couple of things i've noticed are strange with this website in comparison to other security companies
1) I cannot find their master license number, and if i remember correctly you have to have it mentioned on your website if your advertising security services.
2) Their careers page is in some foreign friggin language I have no idea about.. I mean seriously if they want to recruit people who can speak english at least have the page written in english...
Appologies to anyone i've offended with my comments...
