Whatever happened caused it to stop transmitting its ads-b details from one second to the next.
One second it is 472 kts 35000ft heading 025 deg then zippo ... Nothing
That plane had an incident on one of its wings a couple of years ago, so that maybe a line of inquiry as well as the terrorism angle

Primary radar could demonstrate if the plane broke up

Anyone know any HF frequencies being used at present for the search?
I'm currently listening to 5680khz which is the International Search & Rescue channel.

John.

The story gets stranger and stranger ..... now thought to be in the Malacca Straits .... which is a long way from where it disappeared

Gday Chrisco,
Australian Maritime Safety Authority - AMSAR Canberra Control has seen 5.680Mhz has been a little active but but give 15962.0 -- HF1 SC - 22868.0 -- HF2 - And 25.300MHz as a back up a go and the usual RAAF HF Ch'z for AirForce Sydney - AirForce Darwin - AirForce Perth and the like. I will also do some rxing around to track down Royal Australian Navy - RAN HF voice frequencies that are being used on the operation. We have RAAF P3's - Boeing B737 / E-7A Wedgetail x 2 and RAN assets plus assets for all over the world. I hope they find the airliner and that the flight crew get the respect that should be have shown to them from the start, not put the slipper into them so we could maybe have a possible answer for the 24 hour news churn. 73z Richard
