Rentals Channels on GPT & Suncorp twr being used for events & security.(800mhz Moto trunk)
Talkgroups being used:
15632 - Gate Control at viewing points around harbour
5024,4800,4992,4896,5088,7152,5120,21680 all on GPT 800moto.
15760 - security around Darling Harbour
On GRN the following active:
10341 - Ambo sports ch.
10704 - RTS OPS 3
10955 - Marine special ops Alpha
St Johns AMbo also active on 2x frequencies:
462.850 - st-107.2
470.975 - st-114.8

What is this talkgroup for? There are 10 of them on my list (GL 1 to GL10)
What's GL stand for?
For this event it was being used to get people onto buses or trains around the CBD.They seemed to have people positioned at every station.

GL is Government Liaison

They are liaison talkgroups that all government agencies have access to, as opposed to Emergency Services liaison talkgroups which are ESO only (although the definition of an "Emergency Service" seems to have been stretched quite a bit).

In other words, in the case over the weekend it was a mix of Ambulance NSW, Ministry of Transport, RMS Events, RMS Bus Marshalls just on that channel. As they all have that channel in their radios.
