Mike,

P241 is as Matt has it above part of the Blue Mtns Vote and ACMA is correct it is at Horsley Park.

Horsley looks back into the lower Mountains and the escarpment quite well.

Many years ago it was State Ops, prior to being re-farmed to Blue Mtns

Yes that makes a lot of sense to me on what I have heard on other mountains users
The Blue Mts bus service depot at Valley Height uses a rental site at Horsley Park on 472Mhz to get back to buses at the foot of the mountains.

GRN for state ops, and it dosent get much use these days.

Phones, Email and other comms killed a lot of it.

Not so true, GD87 has been used pretty often this season.
Daily you will hear HTs and FSs call up stating they are going to a new location or sending in reports of new/current fires.
A good one to have in the scan list.

Very true, and still a good one to keep in the list, however compared to the "old" State Ops Strat Net still very quiet.

The old "Strat Net" use to have every district report every fire via radio along with the number of units committed to the job to state ops, weather forecasts read daily, weather readings on hot days from various districts, plus all the aircraft and strike teams and there moments.

those old farts among us would remember.

"ALL STATIONS ALL STATION THIS IS VL2OR STATE OPERATIONS, STANDBY FOR A WEATHER FORECAST FOR SYDNEY RICHMOND CAMDEN AND KATOOMBA IN FIGURES 2 MINUTES"

Often on a busy day it would be busier than a district PMR channel

The internet and ICON put a big end to most of that.

Was following a fuel tanker up around Yass yesterday, Skyfuel was the company. Had a large sticker on the back with RFS logo and"Skyfuel 3" next to it. These guys running with RFS comms at the moment? I havent heard anything but they might of been on local pmr or airband??

I've heard "Skyfuel 6" on the GRN but I had it marked down as "Sky Fill 6".
