Cops have this chap holed up in a pine forest near the NSW/Vic border.
On Sierra right now. Pretty much everyone from Queanbeyan and to the border are down there.

Re: Goulburn Jail escapee
Hi all, he escaped from goulburn jail late this morning stealing a screwdriver from the workshop. Held up the driver of a Mazda 3 and took it, initial concerns were he was heading towards campelltown.

Re: Goulburn Jail escapee
POLAIR and VICPOL helicopters are after him. There's been a whole bunch of sightings just now too.

LOL yeh I found that amusing. Probably said I am not in pursuit becuase he couldn't keep up with him.
I have to aggree with the VKG superviser on this one, if someone has seen you and they are trying to get away and your following them at speed then in my mind that would be a pursuit.
EDIT: good work getting him anyway, and at least the local NSW police got him and not the VICs no doubt save a heap of paper work too.

Re: Goulburn Jail escapee
I had another listen to the first part it, i can understand why now, the car following was a Category 4, 4wd (Delegate 30) which in most instances would get terminated instantly if a pursuit was initiated, i think in this case, being an escapee, they let it slide, as a 'follow' as there was no one else in the area to assist. Most of the HWP that called up were at least 10 minutes behind.
