I'm heading up this year after an absence of probably 8 years. I always enjoyed the day. eBay and vkham have certainly made it easier to buy and sell stuff, but it was always fun to see some of the junk (and the occasional treasure) in the boot sale area. Been trying to buy some so-239 mounts on the net but it's hard to tell the quality from a picture, so I will be hunting around for some of those and a few other bits.

Regards

Kev

I thought I'd ignore this but no it deserves a response. I found this incredibly offensive given that I took my wife & saw no more evidence of this than I would on the streets of Sydney. In fact we both saw dads with enthusiastic kids picking over the bits in the flea markets, just as I did when I was a kid. My wife is not a radio person but she thought it was great to see the encouragement being given to the young to take up Amateur radio & electronics.

Please please remember that many of us in society find scanner wielding ambulance chasers to be the outcasts of society too... pots calling kettles black springs to mind when reading your comments. Keep your insults to yourself- it isn't funny or accurate.

Well no sorry but I fail to see the funny in pedophilia... and I'm sick of the normal hams that make the majority having the p#ss taken out of us because there is the odd creep in the hobby. It isn't funny & you were just firing a cheap shot... if you aren't into AR or don't go for Field Days like this fine, but stick to what is factual because unlike you I think AR is a great hobby and any activity that encourages people to get involved in it deserves promotion not dunny humour.
