Somebody posted this to the Radio Reference database for AAP 800Mhz
Looks like it came from somebody with a actual radio or from the codeplug
This made sense last year in 2012 however most of the Bridgeclimb has now migrated back to GPT
Just for reference
Overlaid on the GPT groups it is about the right number.

Thanks Grant.

I still wonder why BridgeClimb use the system, when a simplex system would surely be more efficient for most of their operations.

Aap, gpt and horsley park 800mhz are still up and running in mid august 2013. Gpt and aap have the usual same customers when i checked on unitrunker .... Ran it on both sites for a day at the start of this week. i Cant hear airport hilton from blacktown and only just for qantas. I was surprised to hear how well horsley park gets into penrith when i was out there on wednesday

Tend to agree scotty, it just seems a waste that there running 2 800 mhz trunking systems for it. at one stage 2 saturday ago they had all 11 voice channels (the 12th was O/S) tied up doing bridgeclimb. they must be paying big bucks to moto to be doing what there doing

cheers

Either that or Motorola dont want their Sydney CBD TETRA site with 12 slots of out action with bridgeclimb traffic if they moved them over.

Here is some trivia.

Bridgeclimb have already trialled multiple digital systems from several vendors. From their point of view, there is a critical factor that has not being addressed which are Delay and voice quality.....

During trials, customers feedback was that the delay in hearing the audio while watching the guide was an issue as it was out of sync particularly on tours with people from NESB's. In addition, the "natural" sound was lost when comparing their current analogue system to a digital one(DMR from several vendors,NXDN and TETRA).

And as for simplex vs trunked, their are reasons for that as well but I can't go in to that.

Needless to say, different strokes for different folks.

The other channels are still labeled A1-5, B1-5, C1-5, D1-5 (when a group is ready to go the leader will call up and give the desk the channel they are using) , but im not hearing them on the site.

Sydney Ports have gone to another digital platform.
Australian Traffic Network (3 tgs) have also disappeared, not sure where they went.
Sydney Football Stadium and Sydney Cricket Ground have their own DMR systems now.
