From a bit of searching around the systems seem to have changed a fair bit. I programmed the systems as I had them this morning, and wasn't very successful.

There's heaps of info on RR, the Sydney Trunk site, aurfscan and Lakescan, but none of it seems very current. There's also a post or 2 on this site, again, nothing recent. I'm specifically after cc's.

Can anyone confirm if the info on any of the above sites is correct? Not interested in MPT systems, only LTR and Motorola or any other sites that can be scanned with current trunking scanners.

Thanks Mathew. I do recall some of these systems had several cc's. Didn't matter much with the old 245 as all frequencies had to be entered.

Got any CC's for the sites you mentioned, or can you confirm if the ones on RR are correct?

Yeah most of the Radio Reference info on Sydney trunking is over 5 years old, many of the systems listed have evolved to bigger and better things...

The last info I have on the Fox Studios site is:

SYS 6D39 Site 001
Base Freq = 162.7000 Spacing = 12.5Khz Offset = 380

163.1250 (LCN 414)
163.5875 (LCN 451)
163.9250 (LCN 478)
164.2250 (LCN 502)

From memory the control channel alternates through a few different frequencies so probably worth throwing all four in the scanner, there used to be three extra freqs (164.5250 (LCN 526), 164.8250 (LCN 550) & 165.1625 (LCN 577)) but these were deleted from the site in 2004 on change of ownership and the closure of the backlot.

The talkgroups I have listed are from RR so no point re-posting here.

Unfortunately all the info I have on other sites is as old (if not older) than what's on RR so I guess it's a case of trying each one... let us know how you go?

Andrew

Just remember that switchoff date for 800Mhz Commercial Motorola Analogue in Sydney is June 2012
I was listening last week (before leaving for Tasmania ) to AAP and GPT .... most of the usual suspects including many old Type 1 radios still doing laps on AAP

All,

If my memory serves, the Fox Studios systems was turned off, around the same time the amusement park side of the precinct was closed. Many of the non trunking channels are / were still being used for a while thereafter.

I did notice that the previously assigned Fox Studio frequencies are now licenced to Colonial First State Asset Management. Don't know the relationship to Fox.

Rusty,

the fox studios trunking system was still in use after they shut down the rides as i used to work there when i was doing event security for aces...

dunno what its like now since its been taken over by some other company a few years ago as they might have shut it down for a more simple pmr system

Im pretty sure that system is still operational, the CC was active only last week when I was in there, I might check it out next week if I end up near there.

Okay, I suppose that is good news that the Fox system is still up and running. I remember spending days slowly working out the base frequency. That was back in the days of the UBC245XLT. It was the first trunking scanner we had here and it was all new to us. We have come a long way since then.

I did a bit of a control channel search this morning for active 800mhz sites. I can pick the following up from my location and can confirm they are active:

GPT - Site ID: 4620 (still busy, exp with Bridge Climb)
ANZ Stadium - Site ID: 5114 (some activity)
AAP Centre - Site ID: 0832 (some activity)
Qantas - Site ID: 6407 (still busy)
Horsley Park - Site: 2A2A (no activity)

I might edit the first post with info on these sites, even though, as cartman says, they will only be around for another 12 months or less.

Hearing a fair bit of data throughout the 800mhz band that I assume is TETRA.
