800Mhz Trunking - Horsley Park
800Mhz Trunking - Horsley Park
I was a little suprised to see that this site is still up and running, given that there is stiff competition from TETRA, NXDN and the like
Motorola Sys ID 2a2a
Tone 105.88Hz
Frequencies
865.5625, 865.8125, 866.5625, 866.8125, 867.5625, 867.8125, 868.5625, 868.8125, 869.5625, 869.8125
Control channel alternates between 865.8125, 866.8125, 867.8125 and 868.8125 - changeover is at midnight (1am summer time)
I haven't monitored Horsley Park since the middle of 2009 and i can only see a couple of talkgroups that are common then and now - the rest including what appears to be all the old Type I users have disappeared. School Security for the Outer West appears to have gone as well.
Active Talkgroups logged
52624 - Unidentified
54704 - Unidentified
55440 - Towing Outer SW Suburbs - about 10 trucks
56208 - Australian Traffic Network - heliocopter reports
56368 - Towing Back channel - related to 55440
56592 - Workcare Medical - Western Sydney clients
59840 - Cooler bottled water - Business hours only deliveries and pick up
65536 - BSI/CW id

Re: 800Mhz Trunking - Horsley Park
Hi all, Just for your info Grant. The 800mhz system on Isaccs Ridge in the ACT is basically down to one user now, Universal express. They still have the 2 TG's but their about it now everyone else has gone id say to the new TRBO system. Universal Express were due to go some time ago so im guessing their time will be limited on that system too.
cheers
Matt

Re: 800Mhz Trunking - Horsley Park
Hearing on the proverbial radio grapevine that the end is nigh for Horsley Park and co
The latest is that the various 800Mhz Motorola trunking analog systems around the metropolitan area have only another 12-18mths to operate then it is good night.
A slow dwindling customer base (presumably being drawn across to digital alternatives) plus maintaining an obselete radio system, kept running by cannabilsing equipment spares is the basic reason
I understand that the P25 path for commercial trunking was never a financial proposition due to radio base and handset costs (basically twice the cost of alternatives)
In Sydney 800Mhz TETRA, NXDN and TRBO networks plus a number of legacy systems like LTR (which can be upgraded to NXDN) and VHF/UHF/500Mhz MPT1327 will be what is available to future clients.
For instance Vertel is quoting on their website for the hire of a Teamtalk NXDN networked digital radio for $59 per radio per month (36mth contract)
Grant
PS Not sure about the Qantas and Fox Studio Motorola systems as they appear to be owned by the respective companies (?)

Re: 800Mhz Trunking - Horsley Park
I trunked ID HP over a 4 day period & only captured 5 Talkgroups so that tells you how quiet the system is.
Would they go to 800mhz P25 trunking?
John.

Re: 800Mhz Trunking - Horsley Park
FYI: the towing channels only get about 20% use nowdays. the drivers have now carried 2 radios for about 8 or so months. 1 x mtx and the other a zeon radio. they will only be on the site for a limited period of time
Re: 800Mhz Trunking - Horsley Park
I use to enjoy listening to Canada Bay Towing on AAP Talkgroup 3184 especially trying to get to accos before their rivals ... alas they have gone to the dark side
