Some sort of marker or something
The site needs to be switched off as nobody is using it

As I hinted in another thread a month ago, the cut off date has already passed for 800mhz in sydney, all customers that were using this system are now gone.... some towers are live only due to them not physically been removed from the racks yet.

customers either have gone DMR(Hytera) or TETRA trunked

According to John who i checked with last night, 800Mhz AAP and GPT are still live with customers well into jan 2012, as well as 490Mhz LTR on Sydney Tower.
I heard mid 2012 as the cut off for 800Mhz sites
I would say Horsley Park 800Mhz, then followed by the Airport Hilton as the first two to be knocked on the head fairly soon
The Airport Hilton seems to be in the process of being wound down and customers told to go elsewhere

Interesting you say that, a STACK of customers went elsewhere when they were told Jan was the date they will no longer be serviced, I know someone very well who programmed and installed all the replacement radios (i'm talking hundreds of radios).

Looks like some users on Horlsey Park today (26/4/13)

Sounds like they are at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre, which is pretty much next to the Trunking Site.

Don't know if this is new or not.

Got 4 TG's so far...

1) 57392
2) 57552

Excellent catch Dr Claw
I think you are right
It appears to be 5 talkgroups associated with the "Sydney International Horse trials" - Apr 26-28
Not the Security but a event management group carrying out the organisation
Horsley Park is a Type I hybrid - you tend to see only the talkgroups and not the radio ids

Active talkgroups 27/4/13
57392
57424
57488
57520
57552

Glad it was being used, it was something to scan anyway.

Surprised Smartnet is still running in Sydney. Guess whats left of the current users are hard to migrate to other systems due to cost on them or Motorola is keeping it on for reasons like "Just in case" or Sentimental....

It would no doubt still be turning a profit of some sorts, otherwise one would think it would have been pulled by now. At a guess the site and equipment would cost M very little to maintain, and as the end users probably own there own equipment there would be no costs there either.

Have they turned this site off? I'm no longer receiving a data channel.

Thanks, John
