Update on NXDN

* Vertel have moved NXDN from 488.575 to 485.325Mhz at Dural
* Additional NXDN frequency in use on Vertel's Sydney Tower 486.9750 ( + 493.275)
* Jackson Estate Management heard using NXDN on 488.7000 at Pyrmont. Security was heard on UHFCB many months ago and now appear to be on 509.8125 (presumably NXDN)
* There appears to be a Motorola trbo signal on 492.425 (TR Corp) off AAP Bldg Sydney

And a new one today at Vertel - Tx Horsley Park on 486.575. Wasn't there yesterday

Grant

PS Wed 5.50pm - The NXDN that was there 16/2/10 and a fair part of today (17/2/10) has reverted back now to analogue. Hmmm - i wonder if they are systematically fitting out all their repeaters with NXDN for the gradual move to digital. Makes sense.

PS Thurs 11am - it's back on - NXDN signal

486.7875 University of Technology Security - Tx Broadway
Had this frequency listed as "encoded channel" back in Jan 2008.
I thought this group were on Suncorp Twr 800mhz Moto (formerly AP Twr) on TG 14544 ?
Also had Sydney Uni security at Ultimo on 465.5000.

John

* Sydney TAFE Institute + outerlying campsuses are on AAP TG 14544 and other associated talkgroups (there are several)
* Sydney University are still on their allocated analogue frequencies on 462 and 465Mhz
* University of Technology were using an unlisted (well it wasn't in the ACMA database) on 470.175Mhz ("Uni" callsign with referencies to Level 29 etc)
* Heard them in analogue while working in the CBD some weeks before they made the switch

Just a couple of notes:

1. Found Vertel NXDN control channel this morning off Hurstville - on 490.1500Mhz
2. Found Vertel NXDN voice channel this morning off Sydney Tower - on 488.4750Mhz
3. Will be in Port Macquarie late Monday through to Wednesday so I will have a listen on the Vertel frequencies to see if they have rolled out more re Coffs

Good call Allison, that is the beastie alright ... NXDN control channel signal being heard in Port Macquarie on that frequency
Vertel must be rolling them out along the North Coast

From time to time you should hear NXDN voice for short periods on one or more of these other frequencies at Boambee

473.475
473.775

PS Just had a listen at midday and it's gone quiet since i last listened at 7.30am - must be a part time system like Horsley Park
PPS At 8pm it has becomes obvious that it was there all the time - i was hearing it on the ocean path into Port from Coffs and fades out during the day

Further Postscript - had a listen this morning (wed 9/3/10) at 7.30am and heard nothing - starting to think it maybe just a part-time system afterall
