Noticed that Bluescope Port Kembla is still licensed for 800Mhz

865.0375, 865.1125, 865.4125, 866.0375, 866.1125, 866.4125, 867.1125, 867.4125, 868.1125, 868.4125, 869.1125, 869.4125, 869.9125

Is this the last remaining 800Mhz analog site in NSW or have they upgraded to Digital?
Its several years since i last listened (from Bulli Lookout)

I would reckon that they (Moto) would be scavenging spares off the other ex-800Mhz sites to keep it running.
From memory the Qantas site was a proper type II like Bluescope, whereas elsewhere was a hybrid type 1/2 combo

Not sure about Qantas in Sydney and other locations but Brisbane is now running around with tetra xeon radio for the last couple of months. Qantas may have had the system die in Brisbane and needed to make a quick change to xeon until they work out there next move.

Bluescope at Port Kembla are still running on 800mhz Motorola Type 2 as of yesterday (6/11/16). I was listening from Sublime Point lookout at Bulli. Must be one of the last Type 2 still operating in Australia.

Still some old type 2 systems around. Moto have a significant amount of spare parts available for all this gear as they buy up a lot of the equiptment for next to nothing when they upgrade systems from around the world.

Considering the cost of radios these days compared to 10/15/20 years ago, you would think that large blue chip companies would just upgrade to DMR. I remember working at the qantas T2 domestic terminal doing electrical upgrades back in 2000/2001 when the 800mhz system was live and in full swing!. (now I am starting to feel old without the grey hair!)
