I just had Unitrunker on 800Mhz GPT (4620) - the control channel is still operating but it is dead - no activity.
Looks like it is about to be put to sleep very soon.
AAP must be taking the load for a couple more months then the same fate probably awaits.
Once these two sites are gone and a stack of 800Mhz frequencies freed up I would expect a rollout of more TETRA sites to beef up the Metro coverage which i am told is still patchy
Has anybody listened to the Airport Hilton 800Mhz analogue trunking lately as i cant hear it at Blacktown? Another one to get the bullet i would expect.

Zeon coverage is ok in the inner city but terrible in most other places. Horsley park for example, I sit a GRN radio next to a Zeon radio. the GRN XTS has full signal while the Zeon MTP flashes from 0 to 1 bar. to complicate things, I sit multiple zeon portables next to each other on the bench and they all take it in turn dropping out of signal(flashing red light). Terrible!

I noticed them last weekend had moved to Suncorp tower (formerly AAPT).Bridgeclimb could go on a simplex system or at most a 5w duplex system (liked shopping centres) & put the repeater in the south pylon.
I wonder if the company ever has known they can be heard all across the Sydney metro region.

Yes they know they can be heard and have already been sold a DMR setup.

Motorola Solutions have been gradually turning off all there Smartnet and urging and organisations that they are servicing to upgrade to either MotoTRBO or Single Site Zeon/ Multi Site Zeon systems. it has happened in Victoria where the majority of there Smartnet system are now switched off, or are about to be switched off to make way for newer technology
to many radios as 255 characters is not enough :)

Had a quick "listen" with Unitrunker last thursday (10th May).
Both AAP and GPT still operating on 800mhz
Noted Bridgeclimb on GPT and Sydney Ports on AAP over a couple of minutes.
