Official GRN site updated

Post by Scotty » Tue Nov 22, 2011 3:26 pm

I see today that the http://www.grn.nsw.gov.au site has been updated. Don't know when it changed, haven't tried accessing it in a while.

All the basic coverage maps are no longer available - which is the reason I went to the site. Did anybody here download them all before the changes?

DOH!

Looks like they've removed them from the site altogether as the links on the GRN site list (on this forum) don't work anymore either?

The website has actually been downgraded I would say, hardly any information on there at all now, what a shame, was a good site while they were keeping it up-to-date?

I'll go one further and say backward. Since when has a 9600 baud P25 trunking system been able to do analogue?
Craptacular to say the least

Maybe this is because alot of info has moved to a password accessed site that some of us use. It is only for authorised agency staff.

On that website it says the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority is a key GRN connected agency, I was under the impression they were on Motorola Xeon network?

SHFA definitely run their own network at the present moment. Don't know if they will be forced to return to the GRN.

The official GRN site has a number of errors, so it doesn't surprise me the info above is incorrect. Richard pointed out that all the important info is password protected - and fair enough, but you would think when they updated the site they would have at least ensured the publicly available info was correct, and not just copied the incorrect/outdated information from the old site.
