GRN outage??

Post by Mike Alpha » Wed Jun 15, 2011 10:37 am

Some P25 sites seem to be offline. Chullora, Horsley Pk and Heathcote control channels are up and running but have no traffic on them. GPT and Pennant Hills are taking the load. Haven't checked any other sites at this stage. Anyone know what's going on?

Not a good timing to take sites off the air, but they all came back to life around 10:30. Miranda, Chullora, Heathcote and Horsley Park were not taking any traffic and from what I could pick up, Pennant Hills, GPT, Razorback and Kurrajong were taking the load.

I know up the coast when i was living up there, on the day that sink hole showed itself at West Gosford we had some problems with busy tones out in the field...

Given Ambos, Firies and SES were going flat chat its expected to happen

Seeing as it's now "mid-June" I wonder if it had anything to do with the old analog CCs being decommissioned?

Driving through the Harbour Tunnel today I did a quick GRN search and found only 3600 CC 416.300Mhz running. No P25 CC.

GRN was offline last night.Turned on the scanner around 8.30pm & operators on talkgroups (Railcorp,Ambulance) saying the radio system is back online.Does anyone know how long it was down? Can't see any other posts on this forum mentioning this failure.

Possibly due to power outage in the eastern part of the city, Darlinghurst etc. the SPC is located in that area.
