NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)

Post by citabria » Sun Mar 07, 2021 10:12 pm

Those are most likely QLD GWN sites, as the GWN uses band plan 1 for it’s 400MHz channels.

700MHz isn't used by LMR trunking in Australia. That's just the default USA bandplan that they left in the NSWGRN for some reason.

I posted this on another forum, but will repost it here.

Just to clarify, there seems to be an obsession with COWS. They are nothing more than a transportable GRN site, that behaves exactly the same as any static site. The only difference is they can, but not necessarily have dynamic frequency assignments based on their deployment. Otherwise treat like any other site.

In simple terms, the frequencies assigned to each COW change almost each time the unit is deployed. Log it today and tomorrow it has a different set of frequency assignments. Accordingly if a COW is deployed 20 times in a year, it could potentially have 20 frequency changes.

Agreed. One reason for the changing frequencies is that it very hard to have a "one size fits all" frequency allocation on the COW. Where ever it is placed it needs to fit in with existing GRN frequencies in the area, and not cause interference to other services at / near the site and in the area.

Yes, you are correct.
3.011 is actually at Vincentia (Water towers), 3.97km north of Jervis Bay (ACT/NSW) border.
Changed my post to reflect this.
