Interesting to see MT Bindo on the list that site has amazing coverage, I’ve been up there using uhf and vhf and the distance you can work are fantastic . It also doesn’t have power and this got me wondering are there many GrN sites with out power? They are going to have to install some more gear up there.

This is the fire tower at Mt Bindo. Certainly high at 1,364 metres (4,475 ft) above sea level, Maybe it is solar-powered?

Another twenty (20) new ACMA sites were licenced under the GRN Client ID again today.

A few appear to be in the western Riverina area around Balranald (if that's still classified as the Riverina out that far?), and a couple out around Broken Hill, but the rest aren't obvious at first glance...

Interesting that 002-079 Mt Cenn Cruaich changed site numbers, it used to be site 002-020 at ACMA site 11017 but that site disappeared back in May 2018.

Nice find on HV Tunnel 1 too, that one has been on the mystery list for ten years!

P.S. Still working on the 20 new sites but it doesn't look like I'll get them done tonight.

EDIT: looking at it further, if Mt Cenn Cruaich changed GRN site numbers in the move then it's very likely that the site at Walgett did as well, they both happened on the same date.

That probably means that we have "WALLGETT (746 Come By Chance Road) - ACMA Site: 10002220" incorrectly numbered as site 002-008 ???

2ND EDIT: I thought that rang a bell, that site was ID'd back in March as 002-080 but I thought it was a typo (my apologies to the person who PM'd me) so I've changed it on the map and I'll update the list here shortly (I've got a crap-load of other updates to do too but it's been a somewhat busy week ).

That seems strange for a few reasons: Firstly AFAIK Mt Clear has no landlines and no mains power and so relies solely on solar panels, so I wouldn't have thought you'd want to load it up with extra duties if you didn't have to; also if that site's solar power fails for some reason you lose the connection to Williamsdale as well; and lastly, Mt Clear isn't on the microwave network, it's still slaved off Mt Cow using the old six individual UHF links, unless they plan to update that as well?

Just seems weird that they didn't link it to Mt Tennent or even Jerrabomberra if they don't want to use the ACT's site?

Another nine (9) ACMA sites added to the GRN client ID again today. There was also some movement on the Low Power Services & ACTTRN client IDs but nothing that relates to the GRN.

Seems like an obvious push to get the NSWPF onto the GRN en-masse as most if not all of these sites are at existing PF repeater locations.
