NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)
Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)
Google Maps updated.
The "core" refers to the ASTRO25 core software that runs the network. It's basically the trunking software that runs everything, and it is updated yearly by Motorola. The current release is ASTRO25 core version 7.17.
The existing core is already Phase 2 capable, so it's not being upgraded for that reason.

motorola will also push the 'if you want support from us you need to be at this version of software or newer' which is normal practice for software vendors
With motorola system design core is the one part you can not afford to crash and then find out the answer back from support is we can help you when you upgrade to x
Don't like it, either get over it or retire

Interesting read, thanks!
Unfortunately it's very light on the details (but what else is new), it'd be nice to have a list of the 23 locations for these new sites.

EDIT: Reading that PDF above really shits me to tears, every man and his dog has setup some advisory council, or authority board, or inquiry panel, or forum, or committee, or group... FFS it's no wonder it takes 10x as long and costs 20x as much to get anything done... bloody governments!

And all to achieve the bleeding obvious - better services at less cost!Bigfella237 wrote:EDIT: Reading that PDF above really shits me to tears, every man and his dog has setup some advisory council, or authority board, or inquiry panel, or forum, or committee, or group...
The corporate-speak in that pdf gave me a headache - modeling solutions for mission-critical sector assets to achieve real-time strategic sustainability (I made that up)

Little bit of an update to the list, I was just emailed some UT screenshots of Canberra and Queanbeyan sites, most details were unchanged but I've updated some of the peer lists, thanks again!
