Bloody encryption

Post by rustynswrail » Fri Feb 11, 2011 2:37 pm

I have been out of the country for two weeks, just arrived home, fired up Unitrunker etc needing a fix after a long absence.

So when did the Sheriffs Office enable encryption?

And has anyone else moved to this crap?

Just checked my recordings for them. I've still got audio on almost all their talkgroups up until 2:30pm this arvo (11/02/11) - portables and bases. Are you certain you can't hear them and that it's not an error on UniTrunker?

I heard them in the clear all yesterday, and early this morning, but didnt hear them at all after about 10am, but probably my location.

Around about 1400 hours today, I was watching a dozen or so TX's from the Sheriffs Office on Unitrunker, but nothing on the scanner. Others users are still coming up, so the scanner is working okay. SO... only assumption is encryption.

Maybe wrong but....

You maybe confusing them with Corrective Services court transport eg 10402 - most of their radios are now encrypted ....but i have isolated 8 radios that are still in the clear.
Sheriff is 11021-11030
If they are encrypted "p4" appears on unitrunker in the service column (far right), otherwise 4
